IMPORTANT: Change to our subscription terms

With the tremendous pace that AI is becoming an integral part of our lives, robust cybersecurity is more crucial than ever. At Accentronix, we have a moral responsibility keeping you safe and protecting your personal data is our top priority. To address these massive online threats, we have made significant investments in upgrading our online platform, devices, and mobile apps.

These enhancements include:

  • Advanced Encryption: Ensuring your data is secure at all stages.
  • AI-Powered Threat Detection: Proactively identifying and mitigating potential security threats.
  • Enhanced User Authentication: Adding extra layers of security when accessing your accounts.
  • Regular Security Updates: Conducting frequent audits and updates to protect against new threats.

We are pleased to announce that our new subscription terms and prices remain mostly unchanged, with a few necessary adjustments:

  • Subscriptions for all devices with fewer than 10 users remain the same. This includes the Access Control and Electric Fence monitoring applications.
  • For devices with 10 or more users, the base subscription cost remains unchanged, with an additional R2 per user per year (17c per user per month).
  • The user count is determined and charged only on the Master Device. Slave devices are included only in the base subscription.

These adjustments also allow us to continue creating innovative products and features, such as our new License Disc Scanner which is fully integrated with our platform, offering powerful functionality, compatibility, and configurability, enabling users to tailor it to their exact needs with just a few clicks.

Compared to the total cost of fibre internet per year, armed response, or even your DSTV subscription, our pricing structure remains extremely cost-effective, especially considering that our product is an advanced, powerful, fully integrated access control system used by the majority of security estates in South Africa.

The new terms will take effect on 1 August 2024.

We understand that any increase in costs can be concerning, and we want to assure you this decision was not made lightly. The enhanced security measures will not only protect your data but also enhance your overall experience with our services.

Annual Subscription (Free for the first year).

Subscription terms for Residential use

Access Control for less than 10 users. Excludes Electric Fence Applications.

Intercom Nano 2-Button:

  • An activated Vodacom sim is included when you buy this type of device.
  • There are no monthly or annual subscription fees if an Intercom 2 Button has less than 10 users registered on it.
  • The owner regularly needs to load normal airtime onto sim 1 for outgoing calls. Do NOT load data as this will deactivate the out-of-bundle data connectivity that will cause the device to seize to function when the data bundle expires.
  • Premium features like the use of remotes and the app are free of charge.

Cellswitch Nano:

  • An activated Vodacom sim is included when you buy this type of device.
  • A subscription that includes all sim data and premium features are included for the first year when you buy this device – DO NOT load airtime or data as this will deactivate the out-of-bundle data connectivity that will cause the device to seize to function when the data bundle expires.
  • The subscription needs to be renewed after one year at R99 excl vat. (Excludes Cellswitch Nano Plus)
  • The subscription includes the sim, data connection, use of remotes, tags, access control features, notifications, and the use of the app.

 

Subscription terms for Security Estate and Electric Fence use

Access Control for more than 10 users. Includes Electric Fence and Linked Applications.

Cellswitch Infinity | Cellswitch Nano | Cellswitch Nano Plus |Intercom Infinity range

  • An activated Vodacom sim is included when you buy this type of device.
  • A subscription that includes all sim data and premium features is included for the first year when you buy a device – DO NOT load airtime or data onto the sim cards EXCEPT for the Intercom Infinity which the user needs to regularly load normal airtime on the sim 1 to make outgoing calls. Do NOT load data as this will de-activate the out-of-bundle data connectivity that will cause the device to cease to function when the data bundle expires.
  • The subscription needs to be renewed after one year at R419 + R2 per user per year (17c per user per month). All prices excludes VAT.
  • PLEASE NOTE that the user count is determined and charged only on the Master Device. Slave devices are included only in the base subscription.
  • in the case where there is a Master Device with one or more Slave Devices linked to it, the Slave Devices has the base subscriptions - the additional users are charged ONLY on the Master Device ONLY.
  • No activation or registration fees. Simply install the device and start using it.
  • The subscription includes the sim, data connection, unlimited push notifications, 30 backup sms's per month, unlimited updates, all premium features, the use of the app, security upgrades, and premium support.
  • Welcome sms's to new users is also included with the subscription.
  • Our system will notify you well in advance to renew the subscription.
  • After 11 months, our system will automatically generate an invoice which will be emailed to the administrative account holder.
  • Simply make the payment with the invoice number as a reference and the subscription will be automatically renewed.
  • The E.T. NICE Accentronix remotes, Tags and the App can only be used on an active subscription.
  • Electric Fence and alarm notifications will only work on an active subscription.
  • Visitor Exit One-Time-Pin messages generated by our Intercom Systems are sent free of charge to users with the Accentronix app installed but is charged at normal SMS bundle rates if a user does not have the app installed. These SMS credits are purchased on the platform.
  • SMS credits can be purchased on our platform if you need to increase the limit of 30 backup sms's per month or use the Visitor Exit One-Time-Pin feature.

 

Important

  • If we do not get any definite answer back over email or WhatsApp after sending out notifications to the primary contacts about the subscription expiry status, we will try our best to get in contact with any person linked to the device. This is to ensure that people using the device will understand the security risks involved when a device suddenly stops working.
  • Devices not on subscription will not be able to have any changes made to them. Alerts and access control will also not work.

 

Device Ownership policy

  • We automatically assume that a device is the property of the body corporate/hoa/person on whose physical property the device was installed after 3 months from the date on which the device was registered on our system for the first time. This means that we will change the admin/login rights of a device to this body corporate/hoa/person if we receive a formal request on letterhead from them.
  • This allows 3 months for any ownership disputes between parties to be resolved.

 

Liability Disclaimer

  • We do regular off-site database backups and will do our utmost best to keep the service secure and online indefinitely. We protect all personal information vigilantly. We do not however guarantee the availability of this service due to any reason whatsoever or the accuracy of any of the data stored in the database or contained in the email reports. It is your own responsibility to keep backups of all your data and manage your intercom device type airtime. If the internet is down for any duration or if there is a connection problem and the device cannot communicate with the server, the device will still function iva BlueTooth. If an Intercom runs out of airtime, you will still be able to log onto the portal and view the data. You will however not be able to update the device with any new information. In this case, simply load airtime on the Intercom and click on the 'update' button again. Kindly be advised that devices with expired subscriptions exceeding two months will no longer be able to establish a connection with the system and will cease to function entirely.

 

Hardware and Software Product Use Disclaimer

By purchasing and/or using any hardware or software products ("Products") provided by Accentronix ("The Company"), you signify your agreement to the following terms and conditions.

The Products provided by The Company are provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. While we strive to provide high-quality Products, we do not guarantee that our Products will be free from defects or errors.

Accentronix, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents, disclaim all liability for any loss, damage (whether direct, indirect, or consequential), personal injury, or expense of any nature whatsoever that may be suffered by you or any third party, as a result of or which may be attributable, directly or indirectly, to your access and use of the Products.

The Company is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any hardware or software due to technical issues or defects in the Products. Furthermore, Accentronix is not liable for any damage to your hardware or software system or loss of data that results from the use of our Products.

By using our Products, you assume full responsibility for any loss that results from the use or inability to use our Products. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Accentronix against any and all claims, suits, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that Accentronix may incur arising out of or in connection with your use of the Products.

Please also remember to always make a backup of your data before installing any new software or using any new hardware products.

Consent for Periodic WhatsApp Notifications

By agreeing to these terms of service, the user explicitly consents that Accentronix may send them periodic WhatsApp notifications regarding the status, updates, and any other relevant information about their device subscription. It's the user's responsibility to ensure that the provided WhatsApp contact number is accurate and active. If the user wishes to opt-out of these notifications at any given point, they must communicate this directly to Accentronix through the provided contact channels.

 

Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time. Any changes we may make will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you in the appropriate manner. Last update: 21/05/2024
