About the new subscription model

New Intercom and Licence Scanners now also include unlimited airtime for outgoing calls for the first year!

Your Safety is our top priority

With us now being firmly in the new exciting era of Super Intelligence, we all need to adapt to the good and the bad of this technology. As Accentronix deals with extremely sensitive personal and biometric data, we have now also fully adapted. This includes dealing with and continually adapting to the real threat of cyber-attacks, as it has now become very easy for anyone to penetrate even the most secure systems using the latest AI technologies.

Your access control system is unarguably the most important piece of technology at a security estate - keeping residents and their children safe. Accentronix's core business and top priority is to keep our clients safe, on multiple fronts - physical access control together with vigilantly protecting personal and biometric data from threats.

Making your life easier

In tandem with this we are ramping up on developing new products and features tailored for the unique South African market, making it easier for residents to use our system as well as the people managing residents - like making unlimited outgoing Intercom and Licence Scanner calls part of the subscription.

Keeping it affordable

Our new billing model is still very well priced compared to a typical alarm system or internet connection - considering it is a fully featured, enterprise level access control system.

The new model

We are moving away from per-user billing to a simplified per-site billing for estates, that includes unlimited airtime for outgoing calls on Intercom Systems and Licence Scanners. A site typically contains multiple devices like Intercom systems, Cellswitches, Facial Recognition and Licence scanners.

Service terms & important information

Subscription expiry, device administration and service responsibilities. Click a heading to read more.

Important: An expired subscription can interrupt access control, alerts and device management. Keep your subscription active and ensure alternative access arrangements are available.

Important: subscription expiry

Please keep your subscription active and ensure that your primary contact details are up to date.

We send subscription-expiry notifications to the primary contacts by email or WhatsApp. If we do not receive a clear response, we will make reasonable efforts to contact another person linked to the device or site. We will limit these communications to the service interruption and its potential effect on access and security.

An expired subscription can interrupt access control, alerts and device management. Site administrators must ensure that alternative access arrangements are available if the service is interrupted.

Device administration and ownership

To support continuity of site management, after three months from a device’s first registration on our system, the body corporate, homeowners’ association (HOA) or property owner where the device is installed may request administrative control.

Requests must be submitted in writing by an authorised representative, on official letterhead where applicable. We may require proof of identity, authority, ownership or the right to manage the installation.

Before transferring administrative access, we will take reasonable steps to verify the request and notify the existing administrator. If a dispute is raised, we may defer the transfer until the parties provide an agreed instruction or an appropriate legal determination.

The initial three-month period gives the parties an opportunity to resolve installation, payment and administration arrangements. It does not automatically transfer legal ownership or extinguish anyone’s ownership rights.

Service availability, connectivity and backups

Accentronix performs regular off-site database backups and takes reasonable measures to protect personal information and maintain service availability.

However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Power failures, mobile-network or internet outages, maintenance and other technical problems may affect the service.

Offline operation depends on the device, its configuration and the access method used. Bluetooth access is available only on compatible devices and should not be assumed to work in every outage or subscription-expiry situation.

Site administrators are responsible for keeping user information and access permissions accurate, checking important reports and maintaining copies of essential records where export facilities are available. Our disaster-recovery backups do not replace the site’s own operational records or alternative access arrangements.

For devices with an active subscription that includes outgoing calls, manual airtime top-ups are not required. Where calling airtime is not included, the responsible account holder must maintain sufficient airtime or an appropriate calling service.

Product use and limitations of liability

Accentronix hardware, software and cloud services support access control and site management. They do not guarantee that unauthorised access, crime, injury or loss will never occur.

Products must be installed, configured, maintained and used according to the applicable instructions. Site administrators must manage access permissions, report faults promptly and provide suitable alternative access arrangements when required.

We cannot promise that every product or service will operate without interruption or error. Any applicable product warranties and statutory rights remain in force.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Accentronix is not responsible for loss caused by misuse, unauthorised modifications, incorrect installation by third parties or failures of power, connectivity or equipment outside our control, except to the extent that Accentronix is legally responsible for that loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes rights available under applicable consumer-protection law.

Subscription and service notifications

We use email and WhatsApp to send operational messages, including subscription reminders, expiry notices, service interruptions and relevant device updates. These are not promotional messages.

Please ensure that your contact details remain accurate and active. If you no longer wish to receive WhatsApp notifications, contact us to arrange an alternative channel for essential service communications.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revision date. Where changes materially affect pricing, service availability or your obligations, we will provide advance notice as required by applicable law and your agreement.
