Upgrade your Access Control System NOW!
We’d like to inform you that one or more of your Gate Access Control Systems may soon be affected. Older Accentronix systems still operate on the legacy 2G mobile network, which is now being phased out.
As of 2024, mobile providers have begun upgrading from 2G/3G to 4G/5G, and this transition is already impacting coverage in some areas. Reduced support for 2G/3G at mobile towers is causing noticeable service degradation, and this trend is expected to continue.
At Accentronix, we’ve been working hard to roll out our new 4G/LTE devices, designed to offer faster, more reliable, and more efficient performance. If you haven’t upgraded yet, we recommend doing so to avoid any disruptions as older networks are phased out.
Our 4G/LTE devices provide stronger connectivity and a better communication experience. They also include Bluetooth for easy mobile access—especially handy during loadshedding when network towers might be offline. Plus, all LTE models now come with Wi-Fi capability, so they can connect to nearby routers when needed.
We’re committed to delivering the reliable service and smart technology you can depend on.
We strongly suggest that you start the Upgrade process NOW. If you have questions or require further information about the upgrade process, our customer support team is here to assist you. We are ready to guide you through the transition whenever you are prepared.

Take this opportunity to embrace the latest technology and ensure uninterrupted service going forward.
Step 1: Check if Your Device is 2G or 4G/LTE —
You can verify this by logging into your Accentronix Profile.
Not sure how? See the section below: “How to Tell if a Device is an LTE Unit?”
If you have a 2G Intercom System, only the front panel needs to be sent to an approved Accentronix Certified Repair Centre. The internal electronics, microphone, speaker, and keypad will be replaced. Alternatively, a new front panel can be purchased at a reduced upgrade rate and installed. All users and data will be transferred to the new system.
If you have a 2G Cellswitch Infinity or Nano, the entire device must be replaced. A new device can be purchased at a reduced upgrade rate. All users and data will also be transferred to the new system.
Step 2: Schedule an Upgrade with Your Installer
If a new Intercom or Cellswitch device is being installed, your installer must send the old and new device details to the Accentronix Upgrade Team via WhatsApp. This allows us to transfer users, remotes, and tags for a seamless transition.
Important: Installers must schedule the upgrade with our Upgrade Team in advance. Devices cannot be brought in without a confirmed booking.
New 4G/LTE devices are not compatible with old 2G SIM cards. The SIM supplied with the new device must be used.
If only the intercom front panel is being replaced, a new 4G/LTE SIM will be supplied. Users, remotes, and tags will also be transferred to ensure seamless operation.
PLEASE NOTE:
– All installations must be done by an approved installer.
– Upgrade prices are provided only to installers.
Step 3: Upgrade Confirmation
Once we receive your upgrade request, our Upgrade Team will:
– Confirm the network type (2G or 4G/LTE)
– If it’s a 2G device, schedule your upgrade accordingly
Step 4: Installation & Completion
Coordinate a date and time with your installer.
– The installer will bring the device to our facility
– The upgrade process typically takes 2–3 hours
Once completed, your device will be returned with:
– All original data intact
– New electronics
– A new 4G/LTE SIM
To check if your device is a 4G/LTE model, log in to your profile and look for "LTE" displayed beneath the device name.
In the image below, the bottom device is not a 4G/LTE device and would need to be upgraded, while the top device is a 4G/LTE model.
